Recently USAID has awarded IBTCI a five-year global contract, ABE ACCESS, to help USAID bureaus and missions to establish and improve equitable access to education for children and youth in crisis and conflict settings. Developed to help operationalize Goal Three of USAID’s Education Strategy, ABE ACCESS is intended to address the very wide range of factors, inside and outside of a school or other setting for learning, which can keep children and youth from benefitting from learning

POSITION SUMMARY
IBTCI is looking for mid-level and senior-level educators with at least a master’s degree and at least five years’ experience working in education in emergencies and/or with particularly disadvantaged children and youth for possible long-term and short-term assignments.
Among the fields of expertise for which we are seeking talent are:
· Conflict-sensitive programming, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution
· Non-formal education, alternative education, distance learning
· Teacher training, administrator/supervisor training, training of volunteers
· Literacy, numeracy, materials development, curriculum development
· Youth development, livelihoods, workforce development, vocational training
· Community- and school-based conflict prevention, mitigation, reduction, resolution
· Education and support for particularly disadvantaged children and youth, e.g., child soldiers, victims of trafficking, orphans and vulnerable children (regardless of cause), children with disabilities, displaced or refugee children, separated children
· Organizational development and human and institutional capacity development
· Educational planning, educational administration, and policy dialogue
· PEPFAR-like “wrap-around” services, e.g., food support, psychosocial support, health support
· Safe schools (including safety for children and teachers in getting to and from schools), child-friendly schools
· Development and consolidation of community support for formal and non-formal education and for out-of-school children and youth
· Physical infrastructure, including WASH
· Effective records management, including EMIS for various applications (student and educator records, educational administration and management, etc.)
· Communications, knowledge management
· Violence prevention, bullying, harassment, substance abuse
· Crisis preparedness and planning
· Educational measurements, quantitative and qualitative measurements of activity effectiveness
For these early stages of ABE ACCESS, we are particularly looking for people with expertise in assessments, evaluations, planning, and conducting baseline studies.
