Overview:
International Business and Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a US-based international development consulting company, is seeking an Intern – Research to work in our Vienna, VA home office/hybrid. This part-time position starts immediately.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Research and support will be primarily conducted/provided for:
- Activities related to establishing and expanding DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) / Racial, and Ethnic Equity (REE) at IBTCI.
- Charitable, philanthropic, educational, and other related opportunities in the US and in countries where IBTCI is operating.
- Future product(s) and revenue streams for IBTCI, including the establishment of a NGO associated with IBTCI and/ or ownership, joint venture opportunities or investment options.
- Assist with business development efforts including: recruitment for proposals, editing and formatting proposals, scheduling meetings and conference calls for proposals, conducting market and partner research as requested.
Tasks could include but are not limited to:
- Drafting documents regarding the aforementioned areas of focus
- Coordinate and set up meetings and schedule briefings
- Take minutes of meetings and keep accurate records and auditable files.
- Attend meetings/ events, gather data for future assignments and reports, and report on activities.
- Input contact information into IBTCI’s contact database.
- Maintain spreadsheets and records, tracking information and report on progress.
- Update edit, and rewrite materials for presentation to IBTCI or third parties.
- Keep information and plans confidential, maintaining the privacy of the material.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of work experience in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Drive.
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Excellent writing, research, and organizational ability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Oral and written fluency in English is required, fluency in another language is preferred.
Education: At least 2 years of college education in International Affairs, Economics, Business, English, or other related area.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous international development business development experience.
- Previous experience with USAID, USDoS, and/ or MCC preferred.
- Knowledge in one or more of IBTCI’s service areas.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Drive.
- Working level proficiency in Spanish, French, or Arabic.
Working Environment: Work is performed in a typical corporate office environment. IBTCI is allowing for temporary hybrid work because of COVID 19 in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. This will be updated by the company.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that required the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: No travel is required.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
