M&E Officer Sought for Somalia
Description -International Business and Technical Consultants Incorporated (IBTCI) is recruiting a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join a team conducting verifications in Somalia under the Somalia Program Support Services (SPSS) contract for USAID/Somalia.
The M&E Officer position is responsible for the execution and quality control of verifications conducted by the monitoring &verifications team, including research, planning, training, supervision, quality control and report writing and editing. The M&E Officer helps ensure the timely deployment of all program verification resources throughout Somalia and timely Nairobi-based quality control process and report production.
This is a local full-time hire (no international benefits), based in Nairobi, Kenya with frequent travel to Somalia, beginning in August 2015.
- The applicant should meet these minimum qualification requirements:
- A Somali speaker with strong English verbal and writing skills
- Minimum of five years development experience in education, community and economic development, democracy/governance, conflict resolution, or other relevant field;
- Experience with monitoring, verification or evaluation of USAID or other donor funded projects in Somalia;
- Evidence of effective supervisory experience working with field data collectors, third party monitoring organizations, or other research projects in challenging environments;
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research design, data management and analytical skills; strong ability to synthesize findings and write reports; experience with mobile technologies a plus;
- A results oriented team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, and developing solutions for field implementation challenges.
